SFS Browser

A lightweight Android runtime built to launch portable single-file HTML apps with offline-first behavior and native-style file handling.

Designed for compact, self-contained tools that combine logic, style, and assets into a single document.

What SFS Browser Is

SFS Browser (Single File Solutions Browser) is a full-screen browser for Android built around portable HTML apps.

These portable HTML apps can be downloaded from Single File Solutions.

Unlike a standard web browser meant for surfing the live web, SFS Browser acts as a native shell for single-file web apps: compact tools that package logic, style, and assets inside one portable HTML file.

What It Does

  • Portable App Execution: Runs local .html applications from device storage with native-like speed.
  • Centralized Hub: Provides a refined Home dashboard with pinned tools and a recent files list.
  • Integrated App Portal: Links directly to the Single File Solutions website so new HTML tools can be discovered and downloaded.
  • Advanced File Handling: Uses AppBridge so web-based apps can save generated Base64 or Blob data as real device files.
  • Persistent Access: Remembers granted file permissions so pinned apps remain available after device restarts.

Accesses & Permissions

  • Storage Access (Read/Write): Reads local HTML files and writes downloads or exported files to the device.
  • Internet Access: Connects to the Single File Solutions portal so new apps can be downloaded when needed.
  • Media Store Integration: Ensures downloads are saved correctly on modern Android versions, including Android 10+.
  • Audio Capture (Microphone): Requested only by apps that need live audio input, such as analyzers or oscilloscopes.
  • Persistable URI Permissions: Keeps secure bookmarks to selected local files across sessions.

Download & Installation

Installing it on Your Phone

Once you have the .apk file, move it to your phone (via USB, Google Drive, or email) and follow these steps:

  1. Enable "Unknown Sources": On your phone, go to Settings > Apps > Special app access > Install unknown apps. Select the app you're using to open the file (like Files or Chrome) and toggle on Allow from this source.
  2. Run the Installer: Tap the APK file in your file manager and select Install.
  3. Bypass Play Protect: You might see a Blocked by Play Protect warning since the app isn't from the Play Store. Tap Install anyway.

Once installed, SFS Browser can open supported single-file HTML tools directly from local storage and continue to run them offline after download.
